🏛️ Event Recap: Historic Home Tour

The Rome Area Heritage Foundation hosted a tour of historic residences Between the Rivers on Saturday, December 6, from 3:00–6:00 PM, for the sixth annual #ThisPlaceMatters Historic Home Tour!

This rare look inside these historic properties was presented as part of the RAHF 2026 Membership Drive. All tickets included a one-year membership to the Rome Area Heritage Foundation.

This year, we added something truly special. Following the tour, RAHF hosted a patron party at one of the homes that was on tour last year in College Heights. This party was held for sponsors and sustaining or lifetime members.

What is #ThisPlaceMatters?

#ThisPlaceMatters is a social media campaign developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation to coincide with Preservation Month in May. The program was created to encourage and inspire an ongoing dialogue about the importance of place and preservation, and was billed as an opportunity for "telling the stories of the places we can’t live without." Throughout May and beyond, community members are encouraged to post their favorite historic landmarks and share their personal significance to social media using #ThisPlaceMatters.
